Sad Sunday (a haiku)
I saw a dead turtle at Tanjung Tuan today.
If the environment isn’t good enough for the turtle,
it isn’t good for us too.

Wait, mummy gets you the sun! -Poem (Haiku)

This is a nice shot. This is like telling “wait, mummy gets you the sun (or the moon!)” Anything a mother can’t get you?
Here is a haiku to go with this picture!
The sun is setting
Let mummy gets you the sun
before it is gone!

Nature’s recipe: If one is lost and hungry in a jungle, …
I saw a post about sashimi. I am not used to eating raw meat or fish. But this nature’s recipe is crawlingly raw! It is palm sago worms which is also known as Butod locally.
To the locals, Sago Grub or Sago Worm is a delicacy eaten raw or fried. These creamy, yellow, and fat worms are rich in protein. They are sold at US$0.25 each (RM40 – 45 per Kg)! They are still a hot selling item in local market.
I saw this picture (below) in my former student’s social media site. I asked for her experience before writing this post.

That brings me to a question. If one is lost and hungry in a jungle, would one try this nature’s delicious delight?
We Are Expecting! by Glitteryguts

Proud Big Brother To Be! Mr.Biggles! Super late in updating my blog on all the news and changes we have had the past few months! As you can see in the picture of our proud boy Biggie, we are expecting our rainbow baby in October this year! This week I am 16 weeks (12/05) and […]
Glitteryguts shares her experience being pregnant and having a stoma. Please read on here at We Are Expecting!

The kids were playing on the road, in front of their terraced houses. They stepped aside each time there were oncoming cars returning home from work.
A girl, Wen Li, noticed an old lady neighbour lying on the floor of her car porch. “Popo*, why are you lying on the floor?”Just as popo’s hands weakly beckoned her.
“Mom, mom, popo is lying on the floor and unable to move!” Her mother, Li Na tried to open the gate while some kids had already climbed over to see her. Just then, the old lady’s children arrived home from work. She was sent to the hospital that evening. But she never returned.
A month later, it was Wen Li’s birthday. After singing and blowing her birthday cake, she sat pensively, looking out of the window. Li Na noticed and went to her, “a penny for your thought?”
Her lower lip jutted out, “I don’t want any more birthdays.”
“Why?”
“Because, when I grow older by one year, mom and dad will grow older by one year too. When we grow older every year, my own granny will grow older too. And she will die!”
Caught unaware on how to answer, Li Na pulled her close and hugged her.
*Popo means old lady or granny in Chinese.

Remembering Max
In memory of family pet dog who had been a friend, a protector, and a family member for fourteen years.

The Strawberry generation

I like reading comments by bloggers. Here’s one with high expectation!
**********
‘Yes… I hope kids as they grow to be teens and young adults continue to have tenacity and grit. So far they have been named strawberry generation, which is not good… sigh! ‘

Some of our children exceed our expectation. Some do not.
Do we ourselves exceed our parents’ expectation?

My answer to her questions:–
What gives you the inspiration to write or take pictures? What’s your muse? Past experiences, recent issues in news, other posts and comments.
After writing your content, do you edit or erase certain words or sentences to make sure that you don’t offend your readers? A second thought? Yes! If it makes reading better!
How do you exactly feel after pressing the publish button on your blog? – Ah, task completed!
Do you anticipate that your blog will be a hit? Does it make you anxious? The ones I least expect good responses to became a hit instead!
How do you explain your life before and after you started your blog? I have always wanted to write but couldn’t find the time. Covid-19 has enabled it to happen. I may slow down once other activities return. That is, if Covid-19 ever clear! Besides being a home-maker, I do part-time work at hospitals. I would love to take my son for his bowling practices again!

There are so many good bloggers. I am still learning. So here, I nominate:-

My Questions for these new nominees:
–
Should kids experience fall and get up on their own?
Today’s children are well-cushioned;
helmets, elbow and knee pads.
So they don’t experience injury and pain.
Will this soft ‘brick’ withstand ‘hard knocks‘ ?
