Lockdown is on!

Lockdown is off!

Not because it is safe now.

It’s to prevent the economy

from diving under!

****

Thousands throng the beach,

and camp near waterfalls,

while hospitals continue to battle virus

and vans with caskets lined up

near burial grounds.

Many shudder at the ignorance

“Are lives so insignificant?”

****

What will it take

for reality to sink-in

to convince them?

Or has a sense of hopelessness

breeds insensitivity

to block out fear and pain?

****

Safety and health

or economy?

It’s a delicate balancing act!

When three generations fire fireworks

When three generations fire fireworks

Fireworks (Photo by rovenimages.com on Pexels.com)

Seems like only ‘yesterday’

I was the one lighting

under your guidance

*****

today ‘we’ together,

are guiding my youngs.

.. three generations

firing a firework.

*****

It sparkles and crackles

Shooting up, up, up…

lighting up the sky!

Faces beamed in delight

putting memories of COVID-19 behind

*****

Happy Chinese New Year!

“– Encik Allan

Hidup adalah perjalanan sementara- life is a temporary journey.

Adakah pandangan ini sama untuk agama lain?

2 Corinthians 4:18

Google translated] . while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

This Life is But a journey

(Nabi Muhammad) -google translated]. “in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveller.” (The Prophet Muhammad)

Dalai Lama says:-

” – Dalai Lama – google translated]. “We are visitors on this planet. We are here for one hundred years at the very most. During that period we must try to do something good, something useful, with our lives. if you contribute to other people’s happiness, you will find the true meaning of life.” – Dalai Lama

Choose Your Echo…….

A man was taking his son out for a walk in a nearby forest. Suddenly the boy tripped and feeling a sharp pain, he screamed, ‘AHHH!’ Surprised, he hears a voice coming from the mountain, ‘AHHH!’ He was completely taken aback as it was his first experience of an ECHO.  Filled with curiosity, he screams a […]

A group of tourists sat down to try a street food- steamboat. They watched a group on the next table. A local teenager picked up a button mushroom with a pair of chopsticks… slowly, slowly, … into his mouth!

This group decided to try it as a game among themselves. One button mushroom flew to the next table instead! Both groups broke out into laughter!

The elevator is out again?

The elevator is out again?

When the elevator is out again, is it time to groan or to go with a sedentary staff‘s exercise?

Forget about the 10,000 steps, this climbing up stairs is even more challenging!

Nowadays there are inbuilt pedometer apps on mobile phones to track one’s daily steps… That is, if one remembers to carry the phone along when one moves around!

“The elevator to success is out of order. You’ll have to use the stairs, one step at a time.” — Joe Girard

“Just one small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.” — Dalai Lama

Changing others, changing self!

CHANGING OTHERS, CHANGING SELF!

Today, I read this with mixed feelings:

“Be wary of people who constantly keep an eye on what

you’re doing but don’t compliment or support you.”

Dhar Mann –

****

Have you ever felt this way at work, at home, or in your social circle?

Do you feel unappreciated by your boss, your spouse, or your friends?

But Nicky Gumble says,

“You can’t change how people treat you or what they

say about you. All you can do is change how you react to it.”

I am sure there are many authors who say about the same things above, too.

It is true, but we cannot change others.

So, many thanks to the many who support me!
