Parents together
they shared their experiences
of disabled kids

Of their dependence,
suicidal ideation,
of them dying first
*********
I saw his mum cry
plucking the grass aimlessly
during gardening
*********
A mother grieving
despite being a strong leader
when in her office.
********
years caring for him,
she was a silent patient,
and a depressed one.
*******
Through the year of guilt,
‘Have I failed as a mother?’
She pondered at times.
********
Yet as a carer,
she had to be strong all times
could not, a patient.

The role of the carer isn’t discussed as much. Good to bring up this view point.

The role depends on the severity of the people with disability, Vanya. This title is about the carer. 😀

Yes, there are carers who were themselves depressed and suicidal. But they can not afford to be ‘not strong’ for the one in need!
