The Elephant in the Room- Teenaged Pregnancies
(A poem –Senryū)
There is this big elephant in the room but no one sees it or wants to talk about it!

Teenaged pregnancies
with fathers still in college
small babe with ‘big babe’!
Quote:-
Social ills: teenaged pregnancy, gangs, children with behavioural problems. All these things can be alleviated if kids got more physical activity for starters. – Edwin Moses
Yes, Dolly. I suppose that is nature’s way of ensuring procreation goes on!

I don’t think increasing physical activities is a remedy. Hormones will push kids into sex, no matter how much sports they play. Education and parental or community support that might help alleviate, or at least reduce, the problem.

When we have sex ed here, it’s done by public health officials, including nurses.

Yes, I thought so, too. I remember we only had a one hour talk on Biology about the birds and the bees on the last day in school!

I agree that teen pregnancies is a challenge and also still taboo and so much stigma. Education and social connections and reducing societal stigma can help!

Many say that schools should teach sex education. I think healthcare doctors and nurses will be more at ease on this topic. 🤔

Unfortunately this is still a taboo subject. But I hope with modernisation, schools are now opening up on talks about this and it is done in our school system here.
