How safe are our kids?
I was amazed and concerned to see a skinny little kindergarten girl crossing the traffic light on her own in town. The taxi driver assured me that many eyes were watching over her. Who would dare to kidnap her!
Just how safe are our kids back home?

******
Little skinny kid
huge bag on her tiny back
crossing road alone!
who is watching her?
cab driver amused smiling!
The CCTVs!

Pureness lives within the tiny souls
Fearless innocence exuberates
Such are just transitional states
And soon be tarnished by harshness
Created by sinful souls

Loved the unexpected last line of the poem.

One benefit to losing all our privacy to surveillance cameras is that they can sometimes lead to catching a criminal.

That incident was in Hong Kong. That was how confident they are with the security system for their little kids. Not many countries can say that!

I don’t know. We had a child taken from her home. It seems innocence is valued for the wrong things these days.
