Phone: A part of one ‘s attire?

“I’ve been calling you all morning! Why didn’t you pick up your phone? I had to call Danny to talk to you!”
“I was in the kitchen all morning. The phone was in my room! It is my ‘no phone time’!
Is a phone part of our attire?

I was walking at the University on a warm sunny day. I saw so many attractive young people, and some lovely young ladies. 35 years ago I would have been enthralled with the eye candy. Well, I was enthralled, in a very non-threatening harmless way. But everyone around me, young handsome men and women, were all heads down in their apps and texts. Not seeing the forest for the trees. Do Smartphones make us dumbdrones?

That quote is a great one. I am writing it down to remember. Unfortunately, I am writing it on my phoneš

Yes, Bernadette! Many of us are in these ‘socially and technologically created cells’ !

I have my phone with me at all times. I think it’s one of the best inventions in the world. It’s portable, so when I have a spare moment, I’m always on my phone learning languages, learning career related advice and skills, catching up on news, networking, or just learning general information. Decades ago, I would have to carry several books with me just to get the same benefit, and without the portability.

āI can’t be like these people with 50K or100K followers that would be pandemonium and I will not live online! I even shutoff my cell phone and live how it was when you would be out and about all day working, then get home to see who called and call back if there was time; if not they waited till the weekend; unless really urgent! Occasionally would use a phone booth but not much, and now the cell is my carry phone booth! Stays off till I need to make a call.ā
OMG! Chen who needs cell phones when you can read minds!
Talk about being in the groove!
You just blew my mind!
I needed that to wake me up and someone is telling me something!!!
God bless you!

Again Chen, youāre in some groove here with my own thoughts! Yes the phone booth is completely obsolete here now too! But read my lengthy comment to what one of your readers said back in 2021 as it all ties together with your comments throughout and what Iāve actually been thinking about off and on over the last 48 hours! Great posting Chen; thank you for being so cognizant and expressing your ideas here!
God bless you and yours.

So true! I remember forgetting my cell phone whilst going to the doctor’s at the hospital and slapped my forehead as there was an app there for recording safe entry! Luckily, I could use the bar code on my ID to enter, else I will have had to return home and drive back to the hospital.

We are all becoming slaves to our phones, myself included, and it is very sad to see!
