I read my first book,
got my first caning from mum.
But I owed her most!

All I am today
with her love and discipline,
owed in love, in strength
.

For some, father is the significant figure that forms one’s character and guides one’s life. For some, mother is the hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world!

That is an interesting perspective. As someone who is male and parenting with another male, there obviously is not a mother figure in our home. But definitely roles and personalities that are traditionally associated with “father” and “mother” exist in both of us. I can see the strengths that exist in both archetypes but agree the “mother” figure holds many important and unique qualities.
