Dual perspectives: Religion versus spirituality?

Religion or spirituality?
Both teaches one to be good and do good.

Quote:
- “…This is why I sometimes say religion is something we can perhaps do without. What we cannot do without are these basic spiritual qualities (such as love and compassion, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, contentment, a sense of responsibility, a sense of harmony, which bring happiness to both self and others. )- Dalai Lama
Thank you for your post. It raised a question for me. If spirituality is more individual and religion is more communal, do you think people can lose opportunities to love and feel loved in return without the community part of religion?

Religion and Spirituality will never go hand in hand. Religion is Human made but Spirituality is God made. A lovely and profound post Chen.

I am not too fond of institutional religions. I like to cut through the bureaucracy and get straight to the spirituality. Jesus and others like him are cool.

All religion teaches us to be spiritual, the way to connect with the Supreme Power. The spirituality give us solace.
