COVID-19: No one should die alone
******
I read a post "No one should die alone" referring to dying alone in a nursing home. My mind goes to the many COVID-19 patients in Intensive Care Units who had to die alone without their loved ones around them. "Nurse, I am scared to die!" " Uncle, I will chant a prayer together with you." Another Buddhist nurse said: "According to a Buddhist monk, it is better to inform the dying to remember the good deeds they have done so that they may reborn in a better realm." A Muslim healthcare worker would hold the dying patient's hand and say a prayer during their last breaths. A Hindu nurse said, "We can chant Om Shivaya Namaha or Om Namo Shivaya." A Christian nurse said, "I would do this: With both my praying hands held over her/ his praying hands and recite Psalm 23: V 1 - 6" ********
When everything else seems futile, spirituality offers great solace and comfort.
Even a Hindu doctor had recited Islamic prayer for a patient on death bed!

Yes. People are still dying. The number doesn’t seem to matter anymore. So sad!
