Ego is like a balloon!
There was a highly-respected neurosurgeon, a head of department. He would greet everyone whenever he walked into the wards; from attendants, nurses to doctors. So much so that they would try very hard to greet him first, the minute they saw him!
Another senior surgeon asked one of the ward staff why they all would greet the head readily but not greet him whenever they saw him! An attendant explained about the above experience!
Such is a person – so high yet so ego-less!

*******
The ego is like a balloon,
easy to inflate and deflate.
Constant self-awareness
will allow us to easily
identify our ego,
once we do,
just acknowledge it,
neither condemn
nor commend.

Wise words for sure. 🙏

I think I found all of these thoughts helping Cheryl in her last days here. Dementia is a terrible thing.
