Does yelling work?

Does yelling work?

“I got it first!”

“No, it’s mine!”

They fought and wrestled!

“Sigh! Do they fight only

when I come back from work?”

One late evening, the younger one

stood by the door-grill wondering

why his big bro was not home yet

… from the football field!

I found that yelling didn’t work… for them and for me! I would call them to a room and gave each of them a chance to explain. Sometimes a hug each… Usually each would still get a few canes on his palm…

Oh all the things I feel the worst and the guiltiest for as a parent is when I lose my cool and yell at my little one. His behaviour is very frustrating at times but I know yelling only adds fuel to the fire.

    1. Yelling will increase one’s adrenaline spurt and blood pressure. Calling them to a locked room shows that one is serious. Of course, hugging is good after the talking. A little whack on the palm, hmmm, is better some senseless slapping on a child’s face or body. Thanks for your input. 🙏🙏🙏
