Along Hospital Corridors

Along hospital corridors,
rushing steps of doctors and staff,
cries of loved ones accompanying
sick, injured patients
on wheeling trolleys
zooming past
to theatres or wards.

Despairing looks,
choking desolation of those
squatting along the corridors
having lost their loved ones wondering
if life will still be the same

I can imagine this being one of the hardest parts of being a doctor and nurse. Does it ever get easier?
